An Island Gem !!

"First I would like to reference the review from Stephen W. from Toledo, OH, 08/16/2019 - His review was terriffic and highlights everything about the property perfectly! I stayed in Bikini Cove with 4 adults and 4 kids and there was a terrific amount of space. The kitchen/great room/dining area was perfect for entertaining kids, doing a puzzle, cooking and relaxing. This house feels like Ocean Front even though it is not. You can even hear the waves at night while sleeping. I am used to having ocean front housing where the pool is in front of the home and is warmed by the sun all day long. Bikini Cove's pool is behind the property and therefore stays cool and refreshing....perfect for that afternoon dip to cool down from the sun and sand of the beach. We had a fantastic week in Bikini Cove and will surely look to rent the space again in coming years!"

Vacation saved...

Our vacation started out troubling since we booked our time at Bikini Cove when Hurricane Dorian was coming through but were kind enough to let us switch our time slot to the following week since it hadn't been rented out for that week, which saved our vacation! Thank you so much! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there! The beds were very comfortable which was a big plus for us and the layout is spacious. Everyone had their own space and privacy and we all enjoyed having our own bathrooms and porches. It was very well maintained although we did had a little trouble with the ice maker but maintenance was out to fix it right away (just ice stuck in the machine). Thank you! It was just a short walk out to the beach, nothing much at all. Out of all the places we've rented on the beach, Bikini Cove stands a cut above. We'll definitely be renting again next year!

On an Isle with some GREAT places to stay

"Well, I'll try to keep this concise, (so much for that...) but there are plenty of things to mention so I'll get right to it. THE RENTAL COMPANY: Nothing but positive communication was done from them. I had several phone conversations with them ahead of our stay, and professional courtesy was shown in answering my questions each and every time. THE HOUSE: First impressions mean a lot, and this house was GREAT from our first step into it. Even driving up to it on Ocean Dr., the house is unique. You'll notice from the photos all the decks that are shown. There's more in the back as well, and they all were utilized throughout the week by various persons, needing a spot to get away for a few minutes. I know of several hours of reading done on many of the personal deck spaces. I don't pay attention much to decorations, but from everyone with us who does, this was well done. From clean flooring to quality furniture to the top notch kitchen, all made for a relaxing week. THE MAIN LIVING LEVEL: The Kitchen: A good area. There are little tags on all cabinets that aren't obtrusive at all, but are very handy for finding things in a house that you aren't familiar with. We were considering using that in our homes, is was that clever. Meals were easy to prepare and partake of. The 2 dishwashers meant we could always have clean utensils. The island was excellent. There was plenty of room to maneuver between counters and island, and it was large enough to accommodate several for eating, while holding the dinners too. The main fridge was good sized, and we also used the mini-fridge in the island for much of the week. The Dining Area: Overall, a good use of the space. The table was the right size, and we used the provided high-chair (A BIG plus) all week, so take that into consideration when I say that getting around the table wasn't easy. Sitting on the wall side made for tight spots to get out. We liked the look and feel of the table, and again, for the size of the house, the table was good sized. The Living Room: Overall impression was that it was small. The furniture fit the area nicely, and we used all of it. Getting everyone together in that area meant we used the islands seating turned around. I would say it was cozy. The King Suite: This was laid out perfectly, and everything in it was great. The personal deck on the ocean side was awesome, we used it several mornings for breakfast and for a quiet spot to read. The bathroom had an exit/entrance to the back deck, that we used after a swim in the pool, to get right where we needed without trailing water through the house. THE NOOK: Ah, what a wonderful spot!! This quickly became a favorite spot. On the first day I overheard 3 different people claiming it as their own! The view to the ocean was good, the out of the way yet close if needed spot it was in meant it could be used by anyone needing semi-seclusion for a few minutes. (or hours on end...) THE LIVING LEVEL: Packed, but plenty of space. Each room has an attached bath, and this was fantastic. The decks off this floor were used as well, and helped make a relaxing week for many. I need to put in that the people in the bedroom directly underneath the dining room were able to hear chairs being moved, and other commotion from the floor above. THE LOWER LEVEL: A nice hangout! We under-utilized the living area here, but the children we had with us did use the space. The pool table was used a few times though I anticipated it being used more than it was. The laundry room was a huge bonus. The full size fridge was used to hold most of the beverages in the home, and 1 couple used it as their fridge. We were glad this fridge was in the house. The bonus room with the bunk beds was great, and while it could have been bigger, I understand why it isn't and we didn't need it to be. The shower in the bathroom on this level has a shower curtain that didn't quite reach to the floor! We only used this shower a few times as a result. It would leave a small puddle that had to be dried up after each use. A minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless. THE OUTDOORS: The backyard was awesome!! The pool was great all week, and we really enjoyed the fact that at almost any time of day you could find shade somewhere in the pool because of the tree cover. There were plenty of chairs out there, and we never used all of them at once. The grill was used a few times throughout the week and we were wishing we had used it more. The downside being that the kitchen/eating area are on the 3rd floor, and the grill outside on the ground level, meant it was a trek to get anything you needed. I've mentioned the decks a few times already, but with the extra seating and tables out there we could grab a lunch and sit out and watch the kids play in comfort and ease. The outdoor shower in the front of the house was great when coming back from the beach. An easy access to the beach was basically at the end of the driveway. The road ending right there, meant there was no vehicle traffic except bicycles. OVERALL: What a fantastic place to stay. We enjoyed every bit of this house, and hope we get to stay here again. Five stars was given easily for Bikini Cove. Well worth the price as others have mentioned. We have been to Emerald Isle for vacation 5 times, and this was by far the best quality we've experienced. Thank you for a refreshing and relaxing week!"

loved this home

We loved this home and had the best time, it was worth every penny of rent. I haven't been able to say that for three years.

Grand time!

We have rented with Shorewood 5 times. 3 of them renting the same large home...Bikini Cove. All the staff have been extremely helpful from finding a place to checkin and checkout. Any contact during the stay is rare since they handle quality properties. But in the few instances we needed service, they have responded quickly giving great service. Im sure the home owners are as satisfied as are we. Shorewood is a significant part of why we love Emerald Isle. Their office is centrally located (and near a Dairy Queen..important to our grandchildren). Its hard to believe another realtor can equal their level of service. The one comical item is that we are given a Shorewood tote with local newspapers, map, local activities brochures and ....1 roll of toilet paper...for a 6 bedroom 5.5 bath house. Of course we bring our own. Sadly, due to other obligations for part of our family, we won’t need such a large house....more sadly is that we won’t be renting Bikini Cove again. But we asked Shorewood for info regarding a 4 bedroom home. I know Shorewood will find us a smaller version Bikini Cove and we’ll be just as happy. We thank all the staff at Shorewood for the attention they gave us over the years. It’s a special relationship we want to continue. Have a good winter! Fondly, thank you, from the Lokitz clan.

Beautiful Beach Vacation

"Shorewood Real Estate is absolutely fabulous to work with. Very professional, kind, very informative, more than willing to help and responds to questions quickly. I received a text from Shorewood Real Estate to advise me that the house was cleaned and ready for us to check in a couple of hours early. That was a very kind extra. The house was more than perfect. We had 10 people in total and we were very comfortable in the house with plenty of space for privacy. The ocean in Emerald Isle is a bit too rough for me so the pool came in great use. The elevator was perfect when hauling in groceries. The house is very well equipped and comes with linens (pillows, extra pillows, pillow cases, sheets, blankets, bed spreads, bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths and kitchen towels/wash cloths) which were more than adequate. Each room has it's own bathroom. The bunk room is next to a bathroom on the 1st floor. The kitchen was very well equipped (along with a food processor and blender). It had a large refrigerator along with a smaller one. The small kitchen area in the game room (1st floor) has another large refrigerator in the laundry room along with a small refrigerator near the back door, with quick access to the pool. We needed all 4 fridges to store groceries for the week. The ice maker machine was not operational, but Shorewood had a repairman there to evaluate whether or not it could be repaired or should be replaced. We did not need the ice maker at all, the refrigerator provided adequate ice. On our 1st night, we did not have hot water in 3 of the bedrooms. I called Shorewood's emergency number. They were very responsive, but because we did not discover this until late at night on a Sunday, it was too late to call a plumber. However, a plumber arrived the next morning, right after breakfast. It was a simple reset with the hot water heater. The 3 floors of the house have it's own temperature zone which worked perfectly for our group. The house is beautifully decorated with ample space for porch sitting. Outstanding views of the beach. It is only half a street back from the beachfront with walkway access to the beach. The neighborhood is very quiet. Mostly families. The town is very small but filled with incredibly lovely and welcoming people. We went grocery shopping the day we arrived, it was packed, of course, I accidentally bumped into another woman, I apologized and she says "Dont you worry about it, Honey, it's the summer season, it's expected to be crowded and we're glad you're here". That was pretty much the demeanor of everyone in the area. As a military brat, I've lived in several southern, western and northern states (FL, GA, MS, TN, VA, etc.), NC should hold the title of Hospitality State, hands down. They were incredibly warm, helpful and welcoming. We have already reserved the house for next year. Emerald Isle, NC is in our hearts. Many thanks to the owner(s). You have created a lovely beach vacation atmosphere, very thoughtful in its layout, design and amenities."

We are renting Bikini Cove in August. The bunk bed with the double on the bottom is that on the second floor or bottom level?

Asked On 07/10/2016 Answered on 07/11/2016

The bunk room with the double on the bottom is located on the second level.
