Salty Sands

This was our first visit to Emerald Isle, and the location of this house was great. It felt like it was in the middle of all the activities we wanted to do. The deck was wonderful for watching the sun rise. The beach location was just perfect, we spent every morning and evening walking the beach. The house itself was overall pretty great. It was comfortable and spacious enough for the 4 of us. There were a few games/puzzles in a drawer that we brought out at night to play. A few things could be updated (the washer and dryer I am pretty sure are from the '80's - but they did work!) Our first couple of days the water had a pretty bad sewage smell, I did contact the rental company and was told to just run the water at each faucet for 20 minutes or so and it would flush the pipes (we bought drinking water and ice at the store). That seemed to work. There wasn't always enough hot water for 4 people to shower. The first two would get hot showers and the second two were chilly! I don't know if the hot water was based on a timer or why there was a lack of hot water (it wasn't everyday, just a couple of days). There is every dish/cooking appliance you could need, except for any kind of Tupperware or storage container, so bring those if you think you may need them. Overall, a great trip and beautiful location!

Spacious home with a fantastic view, only a few steps from the beach. Steps are easily navigable. Pet friendly. Fully stocked kitchen made it easy to cook homemade meals each night. Easily accommodated 10 people at once and two dogs. Great location, close to grocery stores and fish markets. Fished each day with plenty of action! Highly recommend this home for your next vacation.
