I bought our rental in 1998 on a lark. Although we lived in the San Francisco area, we had lived in NC in the 1980’s and had great memories of Emerald Isle. On a 1998 visit to EI , we decided to look at some beach houses and bought the second one we viewed. That turned out to be an excellent decision in all regards. The first management company we used was owned by the real estate agent who facilitated our purchase. It was not working very well right from the beginning. Within a relatively short time, he moved from the island and we took the opportunity to find a new management company. I don’t remember who recommended Shorewood but we eventually signed up with them. Just like our purchase of our rental, we got lucky. Since we live 2500 miles away, we are very dependent on Shorewood and we were never disappointed. I feel I have terrific rapport with everyone at Shorewood and always find them professional, fair, friendly and caring. I think it mostly comes from them being a family. They work well together and can rely on each other just like my own family. That feeling of family extends to their Owner community. When I need something extra, I never feel there is resentment on the other end of the phone. They want to be helpful rather than dismissive of my issue. They go above and beyond. This past summer, one of my daughters spent a week at the house with her family and a good friend’s family. I ordered a bunch of beach toys and fun stuff from Amazon and had it all delivered to Shorewood. When my daughter arrived, all the packages were at the house, unwrapped and waiting to be used. That’s Shorewood and just one example.
